In 1987, Music Now was formed to create the best DJ entertainment company in Northern California. Music Now was founded by Rob De Hart and was originally located at 4795 Topaz Ave in Capitola. In 1989 the office moved to 143 Market Street in Santa Cruz , then moved in 1993 to 502 Soquel Ave in Santa Cruz and then to 1010 Water Street, Santa Cruz in June of 2002, to 2121 41st Ave suite 102 in Capitola. In February, Music Now decided to make it more convenient for our clients by moving into our newest location at 230 Mt Hermon Rd Scotts Valley. Previous owner Rob De Hart began his music career playing guitar and lead and background vocals with a band called 'GOTCHA" and recorded 4 records performing throughout the Western United States. Current owner Jack Crawford started with Music Now at the beginning in 1987. He took over as the owner in April of 2008. Jack's background came from being a DJ for many years on Monterey based radio stations. Jack also has played in many San Jose and Santa Cruz based bands as a lead singer and bass player. Jack has over 30 years of entertainment experience.
Over the years Music Now has donated its services to the Museum of Art, Pasatiempo Golf Course, American Lung Association, NAACP, American Heart Association, Santa Cruz Aids Project, Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, Aptos Chamber of Commerce, Capitola/Soquel Chamber of Commerce, Woodies on the Wharf, Hot Rods on the Beach and many other schools and associations that have needed donations to help further their causes.

Background
Music Now DJ's started as a one person operation and continued to grow in the early 90's to 15 employees. It employed 3 full time office staff and one part time staff member to organize and process all the events and keep the DJs on time and happy. In 1990 Music Now was the first company in Santa Cruz to offer karaoke sing along in a large screen format. We also provide sound systems and music for wedding ceremonies. Besides weddings we perform at class reunions, birthdays, schools, corporate holiday parties, Karaoke and many other party related events.
Music Now prides itself on referral business and has performed at over 30,000 weddings and events since its inception. Music Now concentrates its efforts to perform within Santa Cruz, San Jose and Monterey County. Because our customers request Music Now, our DJs have had the opportunity to perform throughout the West Coast including Lake Tahoe, San Diego, La Jolla, Cabo San Lucas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Yosemite and many other cities. Located in Scotts Valley, Music Now offices offer flexible hours with an easy and convenient location for customers to stop in.

Unlike other companies, we provide workman's compensation and do not subcontract.
